Why Your Inner Wisdom Academy?
I created Your Inner Wisdom Academy because I've become increasingly interested in a question:
What becomes possible when the people working to change the world learn to access the wisdom within themselves?
Not instead of taking action.
Not instead of standing for what matters.
But as the place from which that action begins.
I've spent most of my life around people committed to making a difference.
And I've seen how easily caring can become carrying.
How commitment can become attachment.
How belonging can become identity.
How standing for something can gradually become fighting against someone.
I've seen it in others.
And I've seen it in myself.
I've walked this path. I'm still walking it.
More than 30 years ago, I began an intensive journey of personal growth because I thought there was something wrong with me.
I thought transformation meant becoming better.
More confident. More successful. More capable. More evolved.
I worked hard at it.
Then my life changed.
Chronic fatigue stripped away much of what I had relied upon to know who I was — my energy, my career, my place in the community, my independence, and many of the identities I had spent a lifetime building.
For a long time, I fought to get my old life back.
Until eventually I found myself asking a very different question:
What if this is how it is from now on?
It wasn't giving up.
It was the beginning of surrender.
And surrender created space.
Space to listen. To write. To question what I thought I knew. To notice the stories and patterns that had shaped me. To discover what mattered when I stopped trying so hard to become who I thought I was supposed to be.
I began to understand that transformation wasn't about fixing myself.
It was about uncovering what was already there.
The path kept unfolding.
That inquiry became a way of living.
It found expression through my writing, journaling workshops, coaching, The Scribblers Club, Gather Your Wits, and eventually Your Inner Wisdom Academy.
Along the way, I continued to study and teach transformation, coach others, explore consciousness and human behaviour, and bring together lessons from more than three decades of personal inquiry.
But perhaps my most important qualification isn't what I've studied.
It's what I've lived.
I still get caught.
I still worry. Resist. Judge. Become attached to outcomes. Try to control things I cannot control.
And I'm still managing chronic fatigue.
The transformation isn't that none of those things happen anymore.
It's that I know how to return.
That's the work of Your Inner Wisdom Academy.
This isn't about caring less, disengaging from the world, thinking more positively, or becoming a better version of yourself.
It's about unburdening and unveiling.
Learning to recognize the fear, judgement, resistance, attachment, old stories and expectations that can obscure your own wisdom.
Learning to put down what you no longer need to carry.
Learning to return to your centre, hear yourself clearly and choose what comes next.
And when you lose your centre — because we all do — knowing how to find your way back.
At the heart of the Academy is Your Inner Labyrinth, a transformational journey inward to uncover what has been shaping you, meet what has been standing in your way, and access the wisdom and power already within you.
But the journey doesn't end there.
You return.
To your work. Your relationships. Your community. The causes you care about. The world you want to help shape.
Not necessarily caring less.
But carrying less.
Not giving up your stand.
But putting down the struggle.
And making a difference from there.
Imagine a world where changemakers accessed their inner wisdom.
That's the world I want to help create.
Transform yourself. Transform the world.
You are the one you've been waiting for.™
